Jim Brown and Sons has been serving Phoenix and the great state of AZ for over 30 years. Anyone can say they are the best but we’d like to take a few moments to explain a little about what makes us special versus our competitors.
Our experience and success in Arizona mean that we offer innovative solutions to any roofing challenge. We think outside the box. When a problem comes up that isn’t covered in a manual, our staff are veterans of the industry and able to problem-solve. This is especially important when it comes to older homes in the area. Older homes were constructed using a roofing system that no longer exists (ballasted rock systems) so fitting these homes with a new roofing system requires expertise.
We don’t just build a roof, we develop a roofing system with your best interests in mind: from saving money on your electric bill to using materials that will last as long as possible and will work within your budget. Our roofing systems include added vents, which keep the asphalt products soft and pliable longer, not burnt out, and brittle. Our solar vents pull the heat out of the attic instead of relying on outside air movement. We also offer a vented bird stop to help the airflow under tile roofs.
JBS requires that our employees attend ongoing education and manufacturer product training, ensuring any and all roofing product installations and applications meet our quality standards.
We are focused and committed to improving our industry. We are volunteers on the board of directors for ARCA (Arizona Roofing Contractors Association). We work with the AZ ROC (Registry of Contractors) to help develop roofing industry guidelines. We also do free inspections on behalf of the ROC when a homeowner has been ripped off by a less than reputable contractor and is trying to get their money back through the ROC recovery fund.
Ron Brown, owner of JBS, is highly respected in the roofing industry and a founding member of ARIF (Arizona Roofing Industry Foundation). Ron organizes a fundraiser every year where 100% of the proceeds go to the ARIF Foundation. The foundation gives scholarships to ARCA family members who want to go to college, regardless of their major. The foundation originally started giving out two scholarships per year and it has grown to 5. Valorie Brown-Miller, Vice President of JBS Roofing, chaired the ARCA convention committee for 4 years. She now co-chairs the marketing committee and some of JBS’s employees have chaired the ARCA safety and educational committee.
Even though other Valley roofing companies are our competitors, we help each other out! Especially the little guys just starting out. In short, JBS Roofing is committed to improving the industry by volunteering in our industry’s leading associations and providing leadership that helps other smaller companies develop standards that will lead their businesses to be successful. We strive to eliminate the sub-standard roofing companies that give our industry a bad name by providing them with guidance and quality guidelines.
